KLC Hosts PBC Regional Forum in Broome
From 25–26 November, the Kimberley Land Council and the National Native Title Council brought together more than 40 representatives from Kimberley Prescribed Bodies Corporate (PBCs) for a two-day regional forum in Broome.
The event created space for meaningful discussion on regional priorities and provided updates from key government agencies, including the National Indigenous Australians Agency (NIAA), Office of the Registrar of Indigenous Corporations (ORIC), National Native Title Tribunal (NNTT), Department of Climate Change, Department of Planning, Lands & Heritage (DPLH) and NOPSEMA – Offshore Energy Regulator.
KLC CEO Tyronne Garstone said the forum highlighted the strength that comes from Kimberley PBCs working together as a region.
“When we come together like this, we strengthen our collective voice and our ability to shape outcomes that reflect Kimberley priorities,” Mr Garstone said. “These forums are critical for sharing knowledge, supporting one another and ensuring our PBCs are well positioned to meet the challenges and opportunities ahead.”
